It took a trip to Disneyland...

We often wish. We wish for what we want, what we desire, what we don't have. Sometimes, those wishes come true. Some receive their wishes and are excited - it's what they always wanted! Others, realize their wish wasn't at all what they really wanted. Most recently, I entered into a whole new result of getting your wish - something I never thought possible - something that never crossed my mind: You've received your wish, and it's what you always wanted, yet not what you wanted, all at the same time!

The wish came true! I'm living in the city of my dreams! The weather is perfect, the people are fantastic, and everyday brings a new adventure. There's just one problem: amongst all this, I feel depressed. Unfortunately, the circumstances surrounding the current wish are distorted - let's just say things didn't turn out as planned. Your 3,000 miles away from anything (or anyone) you know, your scared, your unsure, and your heart is broken! Wow! The city of his dreams - his wish - it's what he always wanted, yet it wasn't?

It took a trip to Disneyland to get in touch with my inner-self. Upon arrival, it didn't seem like the best idea, but I decided to give it a shot. After all, it is supposed to be the happiest place on earth! After a morning of continued sadness and depression, I began to look around. People were smiling, families were loving, and Goofy was giving a little girl a hug. Like many bumps in the road I've encountered in my life thus far, I suddenly knew that my current situation was going to be ok! This was my wish, and while things didn't play out as planned, everything would work it's way out! There was no gray area. The saying, "this too shall pass" crossed my mind. And for once, it made sense! Sounds cliche, but slogans and words can be powerful - they mean nothing for years, and then when it matters most, they strike a chord!

Now, let's be honest. Everyday this week since hasn't been a walk in the park. I still have my moments, as I knew I would - it's a process. But for today, I can raise my head high, like many times before, and know that "this too shall pass!"

"When you wish upon a star,
Makes no difference who you are;
Anything your heart desires,
Will come to you"

Somtimes you need to be carful of what you wish for. You may get exactly what you want. Or maybe just what you need. Who knows? You get to make the final say about it.
